MyCupcakes for Faris

Fieza's friend (Notice that most of my entries starts with Fieza's friend hahaha) ... ordered sixteen (16) pieces of MyCupcakes for FARIS' birthday party.

All she requested was for the cupcakes to be colourful and suitable for kids and to write FARIS' name on five (5) pieces of MyCupcakes.

Fieza is like now my official promoter hahaha.. thanks Fieza... =)

I dont need to cater to anyone now, just orders from Fieza's friends is enough to fill up MyCupcakes' calendar haha

Green and White Engagement Theme

Fieza's friend ordered sixteen (16) pieces of MyCupcakes for her cousin's engagement and uuuuhhh... I was thrilled because I wanted to bake and deco MyCupcakes for such event and what better way but to promote MyCupcakes!

I am a firm believer that The quality of work must speak for itself!

Fieza's friend actually requested for MyCupcakes with buttercream frosting decoration only and to have green and white theme.

But I told Fieza that I'd like to take this opportunity to showcase what I can do for engagement/wedding events for that matter/basically building my growing portfolio for MyCupcakes.

So basically Fieza's friend only paid MyCupcakes as per her requests and they rest are on the house... MyCupcakes' house for that matter hehehe

CHANEL BLACK AND WHITE

Last Monday (29.5.2009) my friend Syukri YM-ed and wanted to order 28 pieces (later he added 5 more of MyCupcakes with simple swirl for himself) of MyCupcakes for his cousin's birthday and showed me exactly what he wanted!

I was estatic!! I loved what he wanted to do!

But the thing was, based on the picture he showed me, MyCupcakes was to be decorated with fondant! And with fondant we need time and time and yes more time! Time for me to make them and time for the fondant to dry! And he wanted them to be ready on Friday night! On top of that MyCupcakes' calendar was quite full this week!

Despite the lack of time, I was adamant to take his orders and I think I was looking forward to it more than Syukri himself hahaha... So that night itself I slept at 2am making the WHITE ones.... and also slept at 2am tuesday night to make the BLACK ones....

Lucky me and for Syukri, the weather was hot and dry enough for my fondant to dry by friday afternoon... pheewww!

For those who knows me well, I treasure my sleep.. and for me to give up my precious sleeping time, then it must be something big like this special request by my dear friend!

Once they were ready, i literally IMMEDIATELY called Syukri to come over to the house and just couldn't wait to pass them to him!!

Did it pay off!?

Teacher's Day Cupcakes

My sister's colleague ordered twelve (12) pieces of MyCupcakes for his child's teacher's day event for Friday (29.5.2009) and also requested that the writings on MyCupcakes to be the same writings I did for Baby Khaira.

I'm surprised that they requested for the said writing. Honestly, I know that they looked so cute on Baby Khaira's MyCupcakes but didn't quite expect that it would actually generate requests haha.... AM HAPPY (beaming actually!)

Remember Kak Siti and Kak Sal? Same thing this time around.

My sister promoted MyCupcakes to her friends and colleagues but of course I feel the pressure of doing the best for her.

Sarawak Flag theme

Syer ordered 12 pieces of MyCupcakes for her good friends who are leaving Sarawak to work at Peninsular Malaysia. So she thought that it'd be nice to remind them of Sarawak by giving them a "Sarawak" feel to MyCupcakes and so she requested for Sarawak Flag as the main decoration and the put unto MyCupcakes their respective names/details.

Good thing about Syer is that she knows what she wants and of course we will try to accomodate to the best of our abilities.

Red Black Sexy MyCupcakes for Hot Mama Syer

Syer ordered 12 pieces of MyCupcakes for her own consumption and requested them to be red black and white and have it sexy looking... ;) and here they are:

Actually I felt kinda shy-shy hahaha cause of the bikinis I made for Syer... coz MyCupcakes above were also eaten by Syer's parents and hubby... kwang kwang kwang

I am happy that I "stumbled" (destined to try?) upon this cupcakes endeavour cause I get to make new friends, got in touch with old friends and found out new things like how much Syer loves her cupcakes (but without the deco)!

BEN 10 for Sue

Sue ordered from me MyCupcakes having a Ben 10 theme but honestly I am terrible at drawing images! I have this visions of children screaming and running away from MyCupcakes cause they were scared looking at my distorted versions of Mickey, Pooh, Pokemon, Spongebob, Patrick... etc etc.. I told you... So the drama!

Luckily my other half is the total opposite of me and he can draw! Yeay!!!Just lovely!!! I think for future orders having anime characters/cartoon characters, I'd just commission him to draw for me =)

Birthday Cupcakes for POSH

My good friends, ordered 28 pieces of MyCupcakes last Monday (18.5.2009) for their colleague, "POSH" for her 28th birthday celebration and specially requested for a gavel (among other things) to be one of the deco(s) on MyCupcakes. (I told them that I would try my best and hopefully the fondant gavel would completely dry in time for my friend to pick up on Wed (20/5/2009) afternoon.)

MyCupcakes for Azlina and now the also "craving" husband =)

Remember Azlina from my previous entry? The seven (7) month heavily pregnant Azlina who was craving for MyCupcakes? She ordered ten (10) more pieces of MyCupcakes and sms-ed me that she would like to have them before her husband leaves for Sabah last tuesday (18/5/2009) cause this time around it was her husband who is Craving for MyCupcakes hahaha... so cute! Azlina told me that her husband is not really a "cake-person", but this time around he liked MyCupcakes so much that he just had to have some before he goes off to Sabah.

I was beaming with proud!

Last time, I made her vanilla cupcakes with choc buttercream frosting and this time around I made choc cupcakes with vanilla frosting!

I need to add more flavours to my menu already... Sigh...

Teacher's Day cupcakes for Mahadir for his wife, Teacher Nurul

I have known Mahadir since way back in university (since Tahun Alif - I just love this phrase - so funny!)and I just found out that he loves to eat cakes (so there was a bit of pressure there for me).. So when he came and picked up MyCupcakes from my house, I gave him one cupcake without the frosting and he approved! yeay!

He ordered nine (9) pieces of MyCupcakes for his wife Nurul who is a teacher and an English teacher at that too. So I had a double take at my writings on my cupcakes and I was already imagining being reprimanded by Nurul cause I made some spelling errors on MyCupcakes hahaha

Teacher's Day Cupcakes for Kak Tuty's children

Kak Tuty and I made an arrangement for her to come and pick up MyCupcakes For last Mon (17/5/2009) morning @ 7am after she send off her son to school (conveniently the school is just behind my house). She ordered 40 pieces (the most order I've had so far).

I wanted Kak Tuty to be the glamour-est mummy bringing the best looking MyCupcakes for her children's teachers at school and I had so much plans for her cupcakes. I had a vision of her bringing a bouquet of "roses" to school and so I made fondant roses and hearts for her.. but unfortunately sob sob sob.. it didnt dry completely in time... but then I told Erwin since I had already intended to give the "roses" for Kak Tuty, I'll bake some more of MyCupcakes for her and give her the "roses"...

I was happy that she was happy with MyCupcakes but I do think that I could've done more for her in that short period of time. Thank goodness for my level-headed/rationale husband telling me that I have done the best that I could and that it was evident from the smile on Kak Tuty's face.

I am SO emotionally involved with MyCupcakes. So the drama.

MyCupcakes for Baby Khaira (1 year old) birthday party

Erwin's cousin (Kak Sal) sms me last Thursday (14.5.2009) saying that a friend (Kak Siti) would like to order Thirty (30) pieces of MyCupcakes for her daughter's birthday for the coming Sunday (16.5.2009) and all she wanted was for the cupcakes to be colourful but there MUST be pink purple and white colour and here they are:

Happy Mother's Day for Eefa's mummy

Eefa requested for 10 pieces of MyCupcakes for her mummy for Mother's day but it was delayed for a week since her mom was in the KL during the actual date for mother's day for this year 2009.

Did you guys know that there is no fixed date for Mother's day in Malaysia... that it falls on the second sunday of the month of May every year?

Eefa requested for the cupcakes to have a yellow blue and white theme - her mummy's fav colours. She wanted 4 swirls, 3 deco, 3 buttercream with fondant deco and here they are:

I just couldnt say NO

On 14.5.2009, Kak Meem ordered thirty (30) pieces of MyCupcakes for Ika's party at school for teachers's day on 15.5.2009. Ok do-able. Have set mind and time to complete the order despite the "last minute" order.

On the same day, Zack, a friend/my junior back in uni who lives in Miri came down to Kuching to attend to a case insisted that she would like to have five (5) pieces just for herself. She is flying back to Miri on the 15.5.2009 and we agreed on the arrangement that she'll be picking them up from my office around noon. And I said ok since I am baking for Kak Meem.

Later in the afternoon,on the same day I got a call from Azlina who also wanted five (5) for herself. Azlina who is seven (7) month heavily pregnant used the one word that no one can say NO to a pregnant lady... "mengidam" (craving) and she even said so long as she can just taste some she'd be fine... And I said ok since I am baking for Kak Meem (she came over last night picking them up around 10-ish - i baked MyCupcakes REALLY big/overflowing the rim purposely for her and baby hahaha).

I just don't have the heart to say NO to Zack and Azlina!

(The thing was I was afraid that I couldn't complete the order due to the lack of time/last minute orders - but then again, I managed to bake 40 pieces of MyCupCakes and some extra for own consumption at home all in just a few hours!) ... Cause I only started baking after I came back from work

(Felt like i was climbing Mount Kinabalu and am almost to the top and the only thing that is keeping me going is my will... hahaha so the drama...)

Atleast the no of pieces of MyCupcakes ordered was just an extra 10 pieces only...

But it was a good experience and a good reminder for me: I have to say NO if need be of me depending on the situation at hand.

Once your eyes are happy with the deco and then the next test would be whether your taste bud approves of our recipe for our cupcakes.

Which is why I love giving MyCupcakes away to get inputs so that I can further improve MyCupcakes. Gave three (3) pieces to my friend Zurwina and come to think of it I did promise Sue that I would give her some.

White Roses for Mother's Day

It's been almost 7 years since we lost our mother to cancer. I miss her so much. If she were still alive, I would have baked her a mountain of cupcakes to celebrate her day or any other day for that matter.. but Allah swt loves her more..

MyCupcakes "last minute" order by Syukri @ Captainfrankiecooke

Yesterday afternoon (5.5.2009) someone using alias Captainfrankiecooke YM-ed me wanting to order MyCupcakes (supposedly for the day after). I almost click-ed SPAM cause I didnt know the ID and politely replied that since it was too short of a notice, I couldn't take his order and thanked him for his interest in MyCupcakes.

Apparently it was my friend Syukri who changed his nick online and he did want to order from me... I told him that it was too short of a notice since he wanted to have MyCupcakes (for a friend's surprise birthday party that night itself instead of the day after).

But then again all he wanted was 14 pieces and just simple swirl with silver balls on MyCupcakes.

So I agreed, so here they are:
