Cakes?!!

My sister has been very supportive of my new endeavour with MyCupcakes and so has her colleagues and friends. They are well aware that I am at present has only been starting out with MyCupcakes officially since 2.5.2009 in MyCupcakes... which means I have been specialising in MyCupcakes or in other words CUPCAKES and CUPCAKES only.

Despite knowing this, my sister told me that they would like me to bake CAKES (Yes, in fact two (2) of them!!) because I told my sister there is no way that I can bake one (1) HUGE cake with my present mini little oven that I have and am currently using.

I am thrilled! Scared! Intimidated! Excited!

The stress and fear for an amateur baker like me is that ... "the cake" might not turn out nicely baked but the stress and fear is evenly distributed among the individual cupcakes but this time around all might and effort is concentrated in the outcome of ONE... in this case two (2) cakes!

Wish me luck people! Will update and of course put up pictures.

I kinda have an idea how they might turn out in terms of the decoration... and do hope and pray that the two (2) cakes will turn out as how I would envisioned them and fulfill the hopes and expectations of my sister and her friends (in terms of both visual decoration and taste!).

Special request combo

Norisa, a new found friend and customer from facebook ordered MyCupcakes with special request combo as I'd like to call them - ten (10) pieces of MyCupcakes with simple fondant deco (mix of hearts, butterflies and flowers), to write HEPI BDAY YATI, to write unto MyCupcakes the names of her children, dad, mum and nenek (2 of them).

I put up pictures of MyCupcakes in my facebook and she liked the "cake" drawn unto MyCupcakes in one of my collections so wanted one to be added to her order. I didnt know which ones to take away otherwise it won't fulfill all of her orders in the first place, so "senang ajak" (not a tough decision).. just add one more of MyCupcakes for her.. on the house =)

Kak Linda (Kak Irma's sister - I baked MyCupcakes and decorated her birthday cupcakes with the outdoor and sporty theme? (Refer to previous entry)) has some brilliant jewelleries collection in her http://www.qacaq.com/. Do drop by and shop people!!!

She ordered thirty (30) pieces of MyCupcakes and requested them to be decorated as per her qacaq collection and of course was thrilled with the order. Erwin bought smarties, sugar drops to see whether they can be used as "gem stones" but the only ones suitable were the SUGUS gummy candy.

See if I manage to capture the essence of her qacaq collection? If you can identify which piece of jewellery was drawn unto MyCupcakes, then I have done my job.

Oh ya, Kak Linda also requested that I draw her qacaq logo unto MyCupcakes but I couldn't fit the logo individually so had to improvise and made one BIG logo assembled from six (6) pieces of MyCupcakes.

BEN 10!!!!

My friend Sue ordered forty (40) pieces of MyCupcakes on behalf of her sister in law to celebrate her son, ILHAN ARIF's 5th birthday! (What a nice and very regal name for a boy. MyCupcakes like-y).

Sue told me that her nephew is a "antu Ben 10" (obsessed with BEN 10 and have tonnes of BEN 10 items and merchandises) which calls for a BEN 10 themed cupcakes of course!

When Sue made the order, I told her I had extra edible images of BEN 10 and so her sister in law agreed to add the fifteen (15) edible images of BEN 10 to her order.

Actually, both my husband and I are BEN 10 followers and avid fan too... hehe... BEN I believe is a good character and role model for kids. He's well mannered, a problem solver with a very positive attitude. Not forgetting funny too!

This time around I was more confident drawing the characters from BEN 10 and was quite happy with the result and I particularly lurrrve my OMNITRIX!

Four Special Requests Combo

My sister's colleague ordered sixteen (16) pieces of MyCupcakes with four special requests combo - to write HAPPY BDAY, four (4) with designs as per engagement gift I made for Atiqah's sister (Refer to previous entry), 5 to have a girly theme for her daughter and the final five to have boy-ish theme for her son.

Was just happy to oblige.. so long as my customers are happy..

Some give away

Birthday with LEO theme

Felicia ordered twenty (20) pieces of MyCupcakes for Felix, her brother's 18th birthday and requested them to have a LEO (Horoscope) theme being a LEO that he is. I thought that is a mighty fine theme and was of course happy to oblige!

A quick one - when Felicia and her mother came to pick up MyCupcakes for Felix from our house, Felicia's mother, Mdm Lim told me that she heard about MyCupcakes from HAS (refer previous entry)=. It just so happen Mdm Lim was sending a patient up for x-ray and met Has on the day she got her cupcakes and... but of course, Has had to promote MyCupcakes to her! So cute!

Might have something special for Has for being such a good supporter of MyCupcakes hehehe

Thank you Coach Dudez

Razmee ordered nine (9) pieces of MyCupcakes to be given away to his Coach as a token of appreciation and a farewell gift.

A quick one - Razmee Rawi initially ordered twenty (20) pieces of MyCupcakes for his coming birthday on 1.8.2009 and I have come to know that he is a very well-mannered 17 year old boy who is making an impact in the tennis scenario. I have noted that tennis has opened up a whole new world for him in terms of travelling, moulding his characteristics and mannerism in dealing with people. He told me that sports have helped him a lot with making him who is he is now. I told him, when my son grows up I too would like to be involved in sports as we are all aware the wonderful benefits and outcomes of being involved in such a positive activity.

Lovely flowers for a Lovely Lady - Happy bday Mdm Grace!

Remember Madam Grace who ordered "office treats" for her colleagues/staff?

She celebrated her 54th birthday last friday (17.7.2009) and her colleague Kak Zahrah (who also happens to be my friend's sister) ordered fifteen (15) pieces of MyCupcakes to celebrate her birthday. She ordered five (5) pieces of MyCupcakes with flower fondant design and ten (10) pieces of buttercream special request of MyCupcakes.

Pooh

Farddy ordered ten (10) pieces of MyCupcakes for his gf whom he calls a "pooh maniac".. haha so cute...

From previous entry(ies), I have repeatedly mentioned that I am intimidated and terrified of hand drawing cartoons based on actual cartoon characters and I even asked Farddy whether he would want to have POOH edible images instead.

But Farddy said that he'd like to see my "kerja tangan" as he put it... Thanks Farddy for putting faith and trust in my hands...

Pink Girlie Bday theme for Syaeeza

Syaeeza ordered twenty four (24) pieces of MyCupcakes for her birthday and requested them to be pink/girlie/pretty themed and to write unto MyCupcakes HAPPY BDAY SYAEEZA 16. She e-mailed/sms-ed me her order and for a 16 year old I am impressed with her mannerism - very polite and mature for her age in terms of presenting herself and her orders. Kids nowadays!

Prior to that her mother, a lovely lady called me Puan Suzana regarding the method of payment (wherein you have to make your payments upfront- as to avoid non-pick up/last min cancellation ). We had a nice chat and basically came to a conclusion that kids nowadays have their own minds and know what they want and like and in this case, Syaeeza wanted cupcakes instead of the traditional cakes for her birthday.

I decided to add one (1) cupcake for her to make it an even 25 pieces and added an extra tiered cake to her cupcakes.

MyCupcakes as Wedding Gift

Cartina, (a friend of Has) ordered sixteen (16) pieces of MyCupcakes as a wedding gift for her cousin and specifically requested for four (4) bikinis, four (4) hearts, four (4) red roses with leaves and the best of all was four (4) tiered cakes as decorations for her cupcakes.

I was thrilled with this kind of orders! I wished I had more time to do cake stands for the tiered cakes, but due to the lack of time, I was happy with how the "two tier-ed cake" turned out.

I seemed to be getting a lot of requests for my "bikini". I have to work extra hard on my next bikini order, make them look more realistic looking.. insya allah, and with practise, in time I will do better with my fondant deco!

My next aim - fondant figurine!!! I aim to become like my idol - hanacupcakes.blogspot.com. Wish me luck ppl!

Special Requests

My sister's friends (all five of them) ordered thirty (30) pieces of MyCupcakes for their own consumption/for fun after seeing the baby bootie/bikini/I heart you/baby bottle/pacifier/make up kit collection which I did for their friend, Has for her anniversary.

I was so happy with their order (despite the repetition and my sister did repeatedly asked them whether they'd like any other design other than the above... hehehe... but nope, they'd like the same design and am just happy to comply) because I can improve on my fondant decoration.

I had more time to add details to my bikini top/bottom and added a lipstick cover for my make up kit.

I liked the colours I did for my baby pacifier.

I HEART my blue baby bootie!

I reduced the size of my baby bottles and thought they looked nicer.

Birthday cupcakes for Bang Adam

My cousin Ros ordered twenty one (21) pieces of MyCupcakes for her husband's birthday, Amran but fondly known to us as Adam.

Just a quick one - Bang Adam's real name is Amran, but we call him Adam. My neighbour's name is Yazid, but we call him Bang Nasir. My mother in law's sis' name is Tamam but we call her Aunty Jijah. We call her other sister Aunty Ot. Just some fun fact I'd like to share with you =)

Know anyone called by a name which is totally different from his/her actual name?

Anyways, Ros requested five (5) simple swirl decoration/Mercedez logo/BMW logo and to write HAPPY BDAY AYAH AMRAN. Simple but nice. Happy Birthday Bang Adam. Thanks Ros for the order. Boh jerak aaaa =)

"Flowers" as Birthday Gift

My sis' colleague ordered fifteen (15) pieces of MyCupcakes for her sister's birthday and requested for flower theme.

I know I just decorated Ilot's cupcakes with "basket of flowers".. but I just luuuurrveee them and I had to put them in MyCupcakes for her. My fav!

It just so happened that I made some fondant daisies earlier using my new daisy flower cutter and thought it'd be nice to add to her requests.

The story of the "roses".

When my sister told me about the flower request, the first thoughts that came to mind was "ROSES"! I was ADAMANT to add roses to MyCupcakes for her. I slept at 2 am! God knows how much sugar was involved to get the stiff consistency I needed for the buttercream as to enable me to pipe the petals!

Finally, the work and the sleepy deprivation paid off.... i managed to pipe Four (4) roses for her! Do wish Kak Shanti was there with me!
