Happy Birthday Daddy!!! We love you lots and lots and lots...

Erwin's birthday is here!!!

Looking back, without MyCupcakes I would have gotten him a cake from our local cake shop or from our local hotels... but nope nope.. with MyCupcakes I now can bake and deco and personalised my own birthday cake for my baby's daddy .... happy happy joy joy...

Initially I sooo wanted to make him a topsy-turvy cake.. I thought it would make a great project and something really fancy for him.. but then again.. we decided to proceed with ... not one!... but TWO birthday cake projects for Erwin...

So here they are peeps:

This is Erwin's fondant shirt cake. I loved that the deco is clean and simple.

This is Erwin's second bday cake.

We thought that it'd be cool to try and see whether we could replicate Erwin's face using the frozen buttercream transfer.... and it worked! Happy happy joy joy...
So, here they are... my two birthday cakes for my husband... my baby's daddy...
Happy birthday En Erwin Effendy.... we love you with all our hearts..
May Allah swt will always always keep you in His grace and blessings...
We hope that all your dreams will come true...
Semoga panjang umur dan murah rezeki...

Hugs and kisses...

Mummy and Emir

MyCupcakes' Model

Growing up I have never even heard of cupcakes.... all we had were the normal birthday cakes from our local bakeries... but now that I am doing this... my son now has access to unlimited cupcakes and buttercream... well, that is whenever I am attending to orders...

... and among his earlier words is Kaaappp... keek...

... and we even taught him to say "beli cupcakes"...

(have to work him off after eating all the cupcakes and climbing walls from sugar rush)

.. I thought it'd be nice to share some pictures of MyCupcakes' Model...

... easy payment scheme for his work and effort... lots and lots of cupcakes ... ;)

Just something nice to share =)

Sincerely
Anor

My little Oko-men (Ultraman) is 2!! Part 2

The reason I wrote the first part to this post is so that you would know the kind of work involved and the planning whenever I have decorating to do (in this case for the bday cake for my son).

I think by now you know them as my "cake thoughts"...

Anyhow, now that you know how the cake came about... here it is peeps... My little Oko-men (Ultraman)'s birthday cake:

I like this angle:

(if you take out the No. 2 candle.. so it becomes EMIR IS "ULTRAMAN" - get it? get it? hehehe)

Enjoy the pictures!

Love,
Mummy and Daddy...
Our hopes is that you will grow up to be a good person and be happy with your chosen path and that we pray that you will always live under the grace and the blessing of Allah swt.

Note: I didn't and couldn't get a pic of him with cake.. cause he was too busy with his new bicycle... Couldn't even get him to blow the candle even... sigh...

Note: I officially started MyCupcakes on 2.5.2009... so this is officially the first birthday cake I made on my own for my son... Am so proud of myself on this one ... very proud indeed!

My little Oko-men (Ultraman) is 2!! Part 1

Emir was born on 28.02.08 and in a blink of an eye he's now turning 2... and of course this entry would be about his birthday cake...

I wanted to bake Emir a choc cakes and am happy with this new recipe I found for this chocolate cake (using butter), it's easy to do and ... yummy to my taste bud. Will add this to my presently limited menu of vanilla cake and chocolate chiffon cake (using vege oil).

From my previous works, you can see that I have only decorates cakes and cupcakes using buttercream (a recipe which I have tried and modified myself to have that "just nice" sweetness) and that due to its consistency, it is very easy for decorating purposes. But for Emir, I wanted to try chocolate frosting for the cake... so I tried this recipe and the taste turns out yummy.

But the thing is I do not like the process of "melting choc" and... the clean up afterwards.. hence the hesitation to try and do "ganache" and such.. but for Emir, mummy wanted to try out something different for his cake....

When I tried this choc frosting, I had imagined the consistency to be similar of buttercream and that I would pipe nice wave-y deco for Emir's cake but it turns out the consistency is very much like "water" ... that's how I would describe it.. but then again once you pour the same unto the cake and your smooth the same... it'll set and and the consistency is fudgy like... that's the best I could describe it to you I guess...

So a bit messy here and there... but the effect on the cake was lovely and it compliments the fondant deco I did for my little Oko-Men...

I achieved what I wanted for Emir's cake:

1. try out a new choc cake recipe - loved it - very easy to do/the texture of the cake is firm and makes it easy to deco/taste yummy to me

2. try out choc frosting instead of my usual buttercream - I like the taste of the same and how it looks on the cake... but I found out that I don't like dealing with "melted choc" because I do not like the process of melting the same (using double boiling method cause I do not have a microwave - I might change my mind if the latter makes the process easier and less messy) and the clean up later...

3. kept the fondant deco.. all sweetness.... just like mommy's little boy...

End of Part 1

Don't you have a "Package"?

A customer called me asking about how much would I charge for engagement cupcakes and I would normally answer (be it by sms/email/calls) would be "how would you like your deco to be?" ... and once I have the answer like... "I would like 25 pieces of simple swirl deco ..." ... then my answer would be then "for simple swirl deco I charge each cupcake at RM2/piece so in total your amount would be RM50.00.

OR that in certain cases... "I would like 16 pieces of simple swirl deco but I would like them to be packed in those clear window box". So I would then answer, your total then would be RM40 (ie RM2 X 16 = RM36) and you just add RM4 for the box.

Case closed. Deal sealed.... next move to arrange time to bake and deco and to ensure orders are completed.

How I wish that it was that simple...

but then again... my cupcakes are not decorated just by simple swirl... hence all the special request/decorated ones like BEN10 theme... with specific writings... are charged at RM2.50/piece and in this case, calculation is still easy. but then there are also requests like mini fondant handbags, bikinis... tiny hearts... fondant letterings... each deco would vary depending on difficulty of requests... and not taking into accounts top full fondant plus fondant deco...

Hence, the variation to the pricing.. but when it comes to fondant deco it would roughly be:

buttercream with fondant deco - RM3 - RM3.50
top full fondant (with deco) RM4 -5
(Still as I said prices will vary subject to request)

Initially peeps... I fell in love with cupcakes and decorating them as pretty as they should be but later on... little did I know that I would fall in love again... with decorating cakes! Who would've guessed that from lil tiny cakes that I would be decorating cakes for birthdays... to engagement... to wedding cakes!

So, here's where the headache starts for me .. how do I charge? How to customize details for my cakes and the pricing? For example, the size of cake... the frosting involved... then comes fondant (and that is different game altogether). Others seemed to be doing it effortlessly when it comes to this... which is why it is sooo much easier to just give them away right? Like the fondant cake I did for Aina, Aini and Alya... or the Tigger deco for Qaisara... or bday cake for Suszainne...

So far I have finalised a few of my BIG cake pricing and it is still a working progress...

What I would hope in the near future that I would be able to finalize the pricing (neither do I want to over charge MyCupcakes' customer nor do I want to over charge either right?) wherein what I aspire from that is that you... our customers would be able to crunch the numbers and punch all the right digits on your calculators and roughly estimate how much your very own order would be... both for cupcakes and big decorated cakes...

We are still a working progress peeps... so much to learn and to improve...

The reason for this entry was prompted by a question - "kitak sekda package ka?" (Dont you have a specific package pricing?". And my answer to her was that... it all depends on what you want ... and not one order is the same ....

For eg, for a minimum order of 16 - and the requests are as follows:
5 swirls then it'll be RM10 and
10 of special request cupcakes, then it will be RM25 and
1 top covered with fondant with a mini fondant handbag deco then it will be RM4.50
packed in clear window box - to add RM4
So here you total sum order would be RM43.50

.... hence my answer to that would be as of now, I do NOT have a specific package pricing."

Note: hmmm... maybe I should be thinking about this - fix my price and come up with specific package pricing like RMxx.xx for XX no of cupcakes with specific deco) ... hmmm... let me sit on this and see how ok?

Then again... if you guys have some more suggestions for me to improve on this... do drop some comments... any inputs is much appreciated.

FROZEN BUTTERCREAM TRANSFER

When I first started, honestly I was rather intimidated with hand drawing cartoons based on famous characters like MickeyMouse etc ... cause as I have mentioned earlier in my other entry like:

I have this absurd imagination seeing kids screaming and running away from my crooked drawing that does not in any way resemble anything like the actual cartoon characters...

But as I progressed and with practice and more practice from one project to another, you become more confident and my hand drawn cartoons gets much better looking... (with the exception of Mickey Mouse at this stage)... For example.. like my BEN10... SHINCHAN... DORAEMON... Am quite happy with them...

But for the above, I am taking in terms of Cupcakes and cupcakes only ... wherein the top diameter of the same is roughly... about 7cm... a very small space to work with... but now that I have ventured in big cakes... larger hand drawn cartoon are very and I would think be quite difficult to do for a larger space ... and to date I have not done such deco ie handdrawn decoration unto big cakes.. as you can see from my work..

Luckily, I have a very resourceful and very the semangat other half who likes doing the research and homework with skills and techniques involved in decorating cakes... and wants me to excel in what I do... am one lucky gal =)

I present to you.... FROZEN BUTTERCREAM TRANSFER (FBT) - Credit goes to Mr Erwin Effendy Sajali for the research and my heartfelt love and gratitude for relentlessly pushing me to experiment and get off my lazy bum to try out this technique.

Basically, this technique would be a further addition to/alternative to edible image and fondant deco... I would say ... the final product is rather life like and you could almost replicate most of the characters I would think.

Why is is called FBT?

1. Once you have done your buttercream design, you would need to keep the same in the fridge for it to harden ... hence the FROZEN bit.

2. Once the said buttercream design has harden, you would then just TRANSFER the said design unto the surface your cake and tadaaaaa.... it's ready!

So now based on what I have done... I would say now that I would know what to do and Insya Allah would be more confident if there is a request for hand draw characters for MyBigCakes...

Anyways, as they say, pictures speak a thousand word and the following would explain everything to my peeps...

Imagine peeps... imagine peeps...

Patrick:
PIGLET:

ELLE
Ensemble of all my FBT:
So, am kind of looking forward to deco a cake request with BFT...

Now, Everybody say it together...

F...... B........... T..........

Just some updates and something nice to share....

CLASSES - Sorry peeps... it's still a NO =(

Hi peeps!!

I have had (not many) but a few... msgs left in my chatbox, emails and sms asking whether I can conduct or do I conduct classes for cupcake decorating and such... am really sorry peeps... but as of now .. the answer would still have to be a NO.

You see peeps, I have a "day" job ... working normal hours 830am - 5pm... that's the PROFESSIONAL side of MyCupcakes.... and by then my little Ultraman would be home with us back after spending the whole day with his friends and nanny(ies) at his nursery... uuuuu... gotta spend some time with the little fella... miss him to bits ... mummy(ies) and daddy(ies) would sooo understand this... then, that's the MOMMY part of MyCupcakes...

Then, there would be dinner for the day (How can you work on an empty stomach and work hearing the growling of hungry stomach of your family members right?) ... American Idol (just had to put that in) ... the never ending house chores etc etc ...

When do I find the time to complete my orders then if you are wondering... We make do and improvise ... my very understanding other half and family members would pitch in mainly to look after the little one (now that he just wants to play and play and play and refuses to go to sleep early) .... while I finish up in the kitchen... baking, decorating... and yup... the cleaning up...

Now then, how one earth would I find the time to conduct class!? Hence the salute to all those who have and are conducting classes like Kak Shanti http://irabakery.blogspot.com/ and Intan of http://kazenscupcakes.blogspot.com/ who has just started conducting classes ... on top of their day job... taking orders and such....

Well, this is just a tiny peek into the life of MyCupcakes...

Decorated cupcakes: RM2.50
Simple swirl deco on cupcakes: RM2.00
Decorated cakes: Subject to deco
Satisfaction of completed orders/happy happy customers: PRICELESS!
(Couldnt help it - just had to put this one in)

Sincerely
~MyCupcakes~

Note:
Fret not peeps ... If I do decide to conduct a decorating class with the very little knowledge that I have... will let you know in bright RED colours heading ....

Note:
A note of advise - I started MyCupcakes "accidentally".... there were trial and errors here and there... started off baking using my late mom's Sanyang mixer (which I think was much older than me - that poor thing) and my cousin's mini little oven and my mother in law's cupcake tray... give it a shot... it might just be the beginning of your new cupcakes journey... having a class would help to get you there sooner... but why not just give it a shot first? If you are really keen... just have a go at it! That's how MyCupcakes started...

For En Halim

I did a post mortem of what went wrong with MyCupcakes for En Halim and with Raynee's assistance I have summed up that... I believe that it is case of me seeing "A" in my head.... but in actual fact it was "B" that's envisioned in his mind. And I never ever want that to happen again. This is another wake up call for me.

I followed the orders to-the-T... Based on emails between me and Raynee who extended the order on behalf of En Halim. Apparently the list of what he wanted was based on pictures posted in my blog of my previous orders... (and the pictures were not specifically stated in the emails). Hence the truth in A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE IS A DANGEROUS THING. I know that now and the full meaning of the same in my context.

So, basically he did not get what he had envisioned when I delivered what I had in mind/thought he wanted. So it was a total misunderstanding on both parties and poor Raynee ... was stuck in amidst of the hillu-billuu huu ha-ness and my kamboh-ness of trying to figure out what went wrong and when a customer is not happy ... basically MyCupcakes is NOT happy... and I never ever want that to happen again...

I am sharing this not because I want to highlight what went wrong nor do I intend to mean any harm to anyone whatsoever... esp to En Halim of any sort ... but so it is a reminder and lesson to me to ensure that this will never ever happen again... In actual fact I should not be telling people that I did something wrong, what would that do to the MyCupcakes' name and credibility right logically speaking ... but I have to be honest with myself and my peeps ... and as Erwin repeatedly say to sooth my anxiety state at that point in time... it is always a lesson and a way to improve myself...

I love doing this... and what does cupcakes and cakes do to people? It should mean celebration! Happy happy joy joy right? ... and not this ...

There was also no request for clear window box - which was assumed as part of the package. This could have been avoided if the request has been made to me... nonetheless I believe this is in its entirety my fault as... it is still hard to maneuver around my blog when it comes to finding details on how to order etc etc... and I did not update the same with regards to extra charges with it comes to the clear window box....

... which is exactly why I am taking the time off to come up with better details in my blog with regards to pricing, how to order etc... This is because when customers do not specifically request for that box, hence all MyCupcakes will be packed in the normal cake box - free of charge. But if a request is made, then (subject to availability), they shall be packed in that clear window box and price of box shall apply accordingly.

Anyways, I am glad that I have sorted this out... I have to move on and have a clear conscience to start afresh in this journey of mine. What a year it has been...

Anyways, Raynee told me that I got En Halim to smile with these:

Am happy!

Sincerely
Anor

Anniversary Surprise cupcakes ordered by Halim

Halim, a colleague of Raynee, ordered nine (9) pieces of MyCupcakes meant to be surprise anniversary gift for his beloved wife and that he requested for specific orders and designs for the same.

Here they are:

1. A bunch of roses
2. Halim (heart) Eda
3. Big heart
4. Happy
5. 15th
6. Anniversary
7. Two rings
8. I heart you
9. One big rose

Thanks Halim for the order.
Thanks Raynee for being MyCupcakes' promoter at your office =)

Note:
Later I found out from Raynee that when Halim picked up the cupcakes from our place, his wife was also in the car and apparently she didnt know why and what they were doing at our house. Lomantik lomantik hooo...

Note:

Later I found out ... that apparently En Halim was not really happy with the deco I did for him and that he expected more of me and my work ... This kind of comments of course saddens me ... but it is also a kind reminder to myself to always always step up my game and always always try to deliver to the very best of my abilities ... which I do strive to do with every decorated cupcake and big cake that I do...

I would like to think and I do believe that I am honest with my work... and that my work should reflect my hard work in each and every deco that I do... and ... in cases where there would be time when my customer is unhappy with what I have done... this too should be out in the open and be known to my peeps and cupcakes and cakes enthusiats... I will take both the good and the bad reviews and put them to good use..

and hence peeps... be it GOOD or be it a BAD review... do be HONEST with me... I promise I will not take heart with any ... cause that is exactly how we move forward... learn from our mistakes and improve for the better!!

Regards and Sincerely

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year!!

My dear peeps ... fellow decorated cakes and cupcakes enthusiats...

Year 2009 is coming to an end... and 2010 is just peeping around the corner... what a year it has been... what an adventure we had with the colourful and wonderful world of decorated cakes and cupcakes... experience and experience ... made new friends... catch up with old ones... baked for loved ones.. wonderful wonderful!

Am taking time off for awhile to get some rest... unwind with the family.... update my blog... (kindly refer to MyCupcakes' calendar) ... dont fret peeps... will get back into action Year 2010... full blast!

Anyways, some pictures of MyCupcakes' xmas deco I did:

Found out peeps.. that decorating cakes and cupcakes does not automatically make you good at arts and crafts... I can deco cakes and cupcakes... but terrible.. zero skill at packaging... you see the above pic? Took me hours just to tie simple ribbons...

Erwin and I got to talking.. wouldnt be nice if I were to have my own personalised boxes for my cakes and cupcakes... you know those lovely boxes with matching paper bags with our logo and details on the side... (dreamy)... instead of the normal cake box and those simple white boxes with clear window ..... but that would also mean extra logistic for us.. storage for those boxes bearing in mind we are operating from home... and personalised boxes would mean extra cost and spending... lots to think there... and no worries peeps... Insya Allah... we still have a long way to go.. we can plan and dream ... cause that's how it all starts right?

Anyhow, here's wishing you a Happy and Merry Xmas and have a fresh start this coming new Year 2010!

Happy new year! Merry Xmas Ho Ho Ho

Give aways

Whenever I attend to my orders... I would normally make it a practice to bake more that the no of cupcakes ordered... as a contingency plan.. you know, just in case my son wants a cupcake... my bro wants one... my sis wants one... (Joking la peeps...) but the most important bit would be to ensure that I will always have enough ... you must always be prepared right...

In any event, the surplus then would always be put to good use. As give aways.... in this case, Erwin brought cupcakes in a box of 6 to his office and my sister brought 4 for her colleagues respectively. The other 4 was given to a good friend of mine, E. Narisa and husband F Nazri V and for their little one Qaisara Khadijah. Due to our schedules and the fact that only and only when I attend court then only I'd be able to meet up with her and so this time around I thought it'd be nice to give her some.

Here they are:

I love give aways... I love having MyCupcakes coz ... I can always give personalised decorated cupcakes to family and loved ones and the good thing about it is ... that no cupcake shall go to waste ya!

Till then
Take care peeps

Majlis Aqiqah/Cukur rambut for little miss cutie pie Aurel

Qana Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto also fondly known as Ewin called me and said that they are going to have a Majlis Aqiqah (In Islam, it is the sacrifise of goat/cow (with further specific requirements) to show appreciation and praise Allah swt for his gift of children and it is the responsibility of parents to perform such sacrifice). Aqiqah also literally means the "cutting of hair" hence in the event there will be the ceremony of snipping off the baby's hair - a basic summary of what the event is for - do correct me if I am wrong). The meat then will be cooked and that it is the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) that it is to be cooked and that the cooking is made to be sweet flavoured.... and be given as sedekah ... and in this case, served to all the guests who came to the event).

This peeps is the BIGGEST order to date done by yours truly... all 380 pieces of MyCupcakes with specific orders!

Three hundred (300) pieces of vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting - in cream/pink/blue colours - packed in individual packaging:

Fifty (50) pieces of vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting - decorated with fondant deco - baby bootie/baby bottle/baby pacifier:

Thirty (30) pieces of fully covered with fondant cupcakes - My fav of the lot (This is my first biggest order for full covered fondant cupcakes. Truthflly, I do not get and actually do not expect to get this kind of order a lot - mainly due to the COST Factor (It's RM6 per piece (Without the packaging which is charged separately) - which I can totally understand - but it is indeed a lot of work and back ache!)

The order was made actually on Friday if I am not mistaken and that the event would the next Sat (28.11 @ 8pm)... and I can provide the ind packaging (Plastic ind packaging with dome lid for the other 350 pieces - but the headache came with how to pack the full fondant covered cupcakes! I contacted Hanif and asked whether he had such stock for this and luckily he did... and Alhamdulillah he immediately shipped the same to me from KL and it was in time for the event! Phiewww!). I do not have such packaging in stock with me cause I will only order them when the order require such packaging.

Thanks Win and family for the order. Am happy to be a part of such a joyous event and happy that MyCupcakes played a part in little miss Aurel's big day!

Note: Aurel slept throughout the event and only woke up during the paparazzi session... smart girl! =)

Excitement ahead

Hi peeps...

December is just around the corner and uuuuu I have so much plans... and I do hope that I'd be able to realise some of the plans which I have been talking about for ages ... wherein time has yet to permit me to do the same..

I've got a wonderful "sparkly" ting-a-ling-a-ling feeling kinda of project this coming weekend for Yasmin and Abby... my 2 tier fondant wedding cake for Ju is coming up at end of this month... Next month's Zyzy's wedding cake... I just love this kind of projects! Keep me on my toes and the challenges of giving my customers want they want and how they would want their cakes and cupcakes to look like for their events and functions... the time and effort spent on the cakes and cupcakes are so worth it once the you see the end result before your very eyes... priceless!

Which is exactly why sometimes I get so impatient with my decorating (Well, Erwin pointed that one out)... I want to see the end result and just cant wait to see the reaction on my customers' faces!

Anyways, this morning I went to check the goin-ons in my facebook (Do add me peeps, vide my email: anorrisah@yahoo.co.uk ... if you like - I'd be happy to add you to my list of friends..)... and I had the most wonderful news... which I will share with you... but then you have to be patient... you have to wait until either the 21 or the 22 of this coming month k... cause I have to wait that long too hahhaa

I need to find time to update my blog and finalise all the new items/pricing/details of cakes like... weight/deco/fillings etc.... in my BIG CAKE menu... truthfully speaking never in my wildest dream that I'd be venturing into BIG CAKES cause I was so intimated with baking and decorating them.. with cupcakes I could evenly distribute my feelings to each and every single one I bake.. but to pour your heart and soul into ONE BIG CAKE... Phieeww... that's a whole lotta of commitments there peeps... but happy to say I am over that anxiety now... in fact looking forward to baking and decorating BIG CAKES.... I hope I'll get so much better at this that I can do this with my eyes closed hehehe.. so the drama ya...

Well, just some update on the goin on of MyCupcakes' developments to date.. ish ... sounds like a newsletter indah there hahaha.

Take care peeps
Thanks for all your supports... will try my best to keep this hip chic and happening... yippeaa yea yea

RAINBOW CAKE

When Aizat sent me a private msg vide fb.... he attached this:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/andrea_r/sets/72157622375764535/

He asked whether I can do this and I said Yes!

The cake is soooo lovely and my hats to http://www.flickr.com/photos/andrea_r/ for doing such a fantastic job and would love to give it a try of course!

Excitement excitement...

When it comes to decorating cakes... I am impatient like that... I want to see the end result.. like yesterday.. if you know what I mean... ;)

The pick up would be for Aizat's bday party on 8.11.2009.

Chronology of events:

What I did on:

6.11.2009 - made one batch of cake and happily dividing them into 5 portions to be colour-ed accordingly.... but later it did not rise as high as I wanted them to be... I usually do my baking at night once my son has gone to bed (tonight he was rather in a playful mode and he didnt want to go to sleep... - and so I started baking quite late - which means.. no early beauty sleep for me). I wanted my cakes to ready the day before so that they can rest in the fridge and makes it easier to decorate. So I just baked all the batches (for own makan-makan later) that I have done and decided to bake a bigger batch... look and behold of all the nights, NOT to have my stock of self-raising flour and Eggs!!! and yes... it's almost midnight!!! I even asked my bro to go to 7-11 to go and check whether they have some... but sadly there was none... and so what to do.... I slept...

When this happens I would be very angry at myself because I know that I am that efficient when it comes to stocking up my baking stuff... but later on it was a good thing (Things happen for a reason ya) cause I would need my rest that night for a long long day tomorrow....

7.11.2009 - When I bake over the weekend, my loving and supportive hubby would take care of little Emir... and it just so happen this week he had work to do and was not at home... luckily my sister was home to babysit Emir... Remember I didnt have any flour nor eggs? Around 9-30ish, am I went to Choice Supermall and got all my baking stuff... and by the time I got home it was already 10 something... After giving Emir his bath .... I started baking... and it was already 11am!!!

I finished around 6pm... phiieeww that is the longest time i have spent baking... and now my back and neck is killing me...

Within that span of time.. my mind was furiously guarding the cake.. while playing with Emir... watching tv... washing the dishes... having my lunch.... and while waiting for the cakes to cool down.. I also manage to deco twenty (20) pieces of MyCupcakes (simple deco as requested) for Florence Lau. Her order was meant to be on Sunday but she requested for it to be earlier and so since I thought I could manage despite the baking.. so I completed the deco for her pick up later that evening.

I am very good at multi tasking.

Last Friday, I baked two (2) pans of cheese cake for my friend Mas and an order by Dyg for her husband (who happens to be my friend). I was not really happy how it turned out for Mas so I decided to bake another one... yup all in the same day!

When I am determined to finish my baking and decorating... I am THAT determined!

When I bake and deco, I cannot do it half way and continue some other time.. it'll bug me and I dont like un-finished business... Imagine baking from 11am to 6pm... on top of that decorating ............ If time and my strength permits I would have went straight ahead with my cake decorating... but I manage to have sense to wait for the cake to cool down and... will see about it later tonight.. or early morning..

Will update you soonest on the outcome!

Oh ya, I've got thirty five (35) pieces of MyCupcakes to go with the cake! and I like Aizat's request and I do hope they will turn out as lovely as the original masterpiece. Surprise surprise!

CUPCAKES TESTING

CUPCAKES from DELECTABLE made by SU

Ira told me that there was this shop selling cupcakes which is "delectable made by su" and her shop is next to the Robinson store which is just a doorstep away from where we stayed ie the Gardens Hotel and for further details you can go to her website http://delectable.com.my/

I bought her basic package which is 3 cupcakes (topped with fondant deco)(the flavours that day were choc, vanilla and ginger and they are sold in souffle cups) at RM28.00.

Review:
Tasty
Deco: nice and simple/cute and adorable
Packaging: Superb! Very personalised and professional looking
Price: Too costly for me but for KL market is different of course...

Note to self:
Find time to personalise MyCupcakes.

The wedding cakes (dummy ones) displayed were beautiful and the kinds that I would love to say to people... "I made this!"... Insya allah...

Note:
I hope that this will be the exact feeling I have once I am done with Ju's wedding cake!

Ok, Basically, from what I saw and learnt... branding is one of the main factors to excel in this field... the personalised packaging plays a very vital factor as it is first and foremost a VISUAL thing prior to actually tasting the cake/cupcakes... and of course, your work will speak for itself!

Wonderful wonderful! I like was Su has done with her place... very inspiring!

CUPCAKES from the CUPCAKE CORNER, ICCA

The shop itself is in the same building as their baking shop.

This is their box.

Flavour: Vanilla, choc, peach, peanut butter and red velvet (with vanilla buttercream frosting and chocolate buttercream frosting)

They use paper cupcake liner and simple cake box (with their emblem on it) like I do and the price starts from RM3.OO. This one is more within my range in respect of flavour, buttercream decoration and price range.

It was a good experience and a wonderful cupcakes testing experience....

Am looking forward to my next cupcakes testing trip.. Insya Allah...

Had a heap of fun!
